book preview (part 3)
Below is a preview of the fifth, sixth and seventh sections of this book.
5. How should I go about my daily life? Should I tell others?
How to live a perfectly normal and contented life while still being a child lover is certainly a challenge and one of the biggest I have ever faced but I think I have done a pretty good job of it and will now pass on the knowledge I have accumulated and lessons I have learnt the hard way to make it as easy and as stress-free as possible for you.
When going about both work and play in your daily life, it helps to avoid children whenever you can but there will always be places where you simply cannot such as in public and with some friends and family. What I do, as recommended by a therapist of mine, is to immediately look away and focus on something else or do something that needs doing. Another technique to help with this is to immediately associate it with a very negative thought such as being caught staring at the child by his or her parents or a police officer and then being accused of being a child molester and brought into questioning, leading to the potential ruining of your life.
There are a number of ‘pro child lover’ websites such as... 6. What changes I believe should be made
If I was able to propose some changes as a child lover with years of experience and research on the subject, I would heavily propose for education in all schools (for both parents and children) to make them aware that child lovers exist and are more common than many may think so children (who should always be our first priority) would know that adult-child sex is illegal and would be encouraged to seek confidential help whenever an adult started to come inappropriately close to them. They should, as always, learn to be aware of strangers but, at the same time, be a bit cautious with adults they live with as a lot of child sexual abuse occurs within families. On the flipside, I would also have widely publicized, free and confidential help made available for all child lovers (using the material in this book as a start) – for both teenagers and adults - so they could seek it themselves without anyone else knowing and not always be left in the dark. Help should include not only one-time treatment but also follow-up treatment every year or so to check on where things are at. There are currently a few websites that offer free help and this includes... 7. The 'take home package' If there is anything that has constantly frustrated me about books, articles, documentaries and academic courses, it is the common absence of a clear and concise summary at the end of them to form an easy ‘take home package’ so those taking in all the information are much better able to map it out in their heads and then retain it for effective and continual implementation in the real world. How often have we done a course, watched a documentary or read a publication and then simply forgotten about it not long afterwards even if what we learnt in it was extremely helpful to our everyday lives? The sole aim of this final section is an attempt to solve this problem...
